Historical Satellite Images: Progression

I'd learned [from a credible source] that the concrete above the burial location was later further concealed by adding soil and planting a garden.

Satellite photos are consistent with this story:

  1. No “white square” was visible in the 1996 photo (nor 1999)
  2. Between 1999 and 2003, a white concrete* square is added.
  3. The 2006 image clearly shows dirt with plants, the exact location & size as the prior concrete.
  4. The 2009 image shows the garden was removed; the concrete square is again visible.
  5. The 2016 image shows a wooden picnic table placed atop the square (barely fitting).
  6. The 2018 image shows the picnic table turned 90° (presumably to fit better).
  7. The 2020 image shows the picnic table moved halfway off the square, with soil covering the other half (perhaps the dumping spot for a purchased load of gardening soil).
  8. The 2022 image appears to have been captured the same day that more concrete was poured, incorporating the square into a larger, "proper" patio. The original square is still present (clearly a different color than the new section).

Also there’s the fact that the neighbor essentially reported a burial underway – using machinery:
None of the neighbors were willing to go on camera but, one neighbor – who didn't want to be identified for fear of retribution – recalls seeing what looked like a body in a hammock in the backyard of the Nanaimo Lakes Road home around the time that Lisa Young went missing. Soon after, he says he saw equipment moving soil around in the back yard. He says he reported this to the police at the time.

* We are able to determine that the “square” in the image is concrete, using simple color-matching, with comparison to other area objects – such as driveways and patios.
