Crime Stoppers has paved the way for the resolution of many crimes. Some, however, remain unsolved. One well-known local case of Lisa Marie Young, who would have turned 28 years old on Tuesday. Her disappearance remains the most notorious unsolved crime in Nanaimo. Young has not been seen since the Canada Day weekend in 2002. She was last seen in the early hours of June 30 with several other people in a maroon Jaguar driving away from a Nanaimo nightclub.

"Somebody knows something, we're patiently waiting for the day that someone comes forward," said Young's mother, Joanne Young. Earlier this year Crime Stoppers began working on a re-enactment of what is known about Lisa's final hours before her disappearance. Filming is expected to be wrapped up next week.
