15 years later: Nanaimo's Lisa Marie Young still missing

NANAIMO — 15 years ago Nanaimo's Lisa Marie Young disappeared and hasn't been heard from since.

Nanaimo RCMP said the then 21-year-old was last seen on July 1, 2002 at about 3 a.m. when she left a house party in the Cathers Lake area of Nanaimo.

Police note Young left with a man driving an older model red Jaguar, who along with the car were identified, but not arrested.

Young was last heard from calling a friend at 4:30 that morning.

In a sad twist to the case, Nanaimo RCMP report Young's mother passed away last week.

Mounties are expected to provide an update on the Lisa Marie Young disappearance in the near future.
