PROCLAMATION
JUSTICE FOR LISA MARIE YOUNG DAY — June 26, 2021
LIGHTS ON FOR LISA — June 30, 2021
WHEREAS: on the Canada Day weekend 2002, Lisa Marie Young disappeared from the City of Nanaimo. She was born and raised in this community and the fight for justice in her name continues. Lisa's mother, Marlene Joanne Young fought to keep her daughter's memory alive until her dying days.
WHEREAS: Lights On For Lisa, June 30, encourages everyone to leave their patio lights on in support of the day she was reported missing.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Leonard Krog, Mayor of the City of Nanaimo, do hereby proclaim June 26, 2021 as JUSTICE FOR LISA MARIE YOUNG DAY and June 30,2021 as LIGHTS ON FOR LISA in the City of Nanaimo, British Columbia.
