When Adair was being questioned in by Nanaimo RCMP at the Parksville RCMP detachment, Lisa's mother was brought in and asked to hug him.[1]
In the interrogation room there was a whiteboard with a photo of Lisa, and only three words written:
When Joanne directly asked the POI where Lisa was, he said "I can't... I'm sorry, I don't mean to disrespect your family...", and then trailed off.[3]
Member of Parliament Paul Manly later described this incident to the House of Commons in Ottawa, exclaiming: "This is outrageous! Who does that?"[2]
