Cathers Lake
Second houseparty
In the early morning of Canada Day 2002, after leaving a houseparty at 827 Nanaimo Lakes Road, Lisa Marie Young arrived around 2:00am at a second party, this one in Nanaimo's Cathers Lake area.[1]

Lisa and Dallas were brought to both parties by Chris Adair who was driving his grandmother's maroon Jaguar XJ-40.[2]
Several others were in attendance at the Cathers Lake residence. Adair offered to buy food for the group, if Lisa would accompany him to assist him with carrying the food back to the party.[3][note 1]
Lisa was last seen around 3:00am, getting back into the Jaguar with Chris, out front of the Cathers Lake area houseparty.[5][6]
Lisa was not taken to get food but was instead brought to a Bowen Road location[6], then a third houseparty, in the Departure Bay area.[3][7]
For the 2009 Crime Stoppers re-enactment video depicting Lisa's disappearance, RCMP incorrectly stated that the second houseparty which Lisa attended was in the "Westwood Lake area".
Cathers Lake
Cathers Lake is a mostly-stagnant body of water in the Jingle Pot area of Nanaimo. The shoreline acts as perimeter for 65 lakefront residential properties as well as 4 beach access points and Cathers Lake Park.
Cathers Lake drains into the Millstone River, which starts at Brannen Lake[note 2] empties into the Nanaimo harbour by the Queen Elizabeth II Promenade[8]. The lake is not recommended for swimming.[9]

- ↑ RCMP mistakenly reported that it was Lisa who had initiated the conversation about food. In reality, Lisa was only interested in getting home (as she was already tired[4], and had early morning plans with her father), but Chris told her he would drive her home after she helped him get the food back to the party. (This information was provided to the author by Dallas during a personal conversation in 2004.)
