Apparently RCMP thought there was some connection between Lisa's disappearance and the 2017 murder of 16-year-old Makayla Chang.
Makayla's parents found out 'by accident' that a suspect had been arrested for their daughter's murder when officers came to talk to Makayla's mother about Lisa's case.[1]
