Nanaimo RCMP to begin ground search for woman
Nanaimo RCMP will begin conducting land searches Tuesday as they continue to investigate the disappearance of a 21-year-old woman missing for more than two months.
Several unidentified areas near Nanaimo will be searched as police continue to look for evidence of the whereabouts of Lisa Marie Young.
Constable Jack Eubank has said police suspect foul play in the disappearance of Young, who was last seen early June 30, 2002*.
She had been out at a Nanaimo night club, and was later seen riding in a late 1980s burgundy Jaguar.
Young is native, about five feet 10 inches and 120 pounds. She has brown hair and brown eyes.
* Several publications misreported dates surrounding Lisa's disappearance (likely confused by the long weekend). Lisa's parents last saw her late Sunday June 30th, and she was last seen by her friends at the bar and at two parties early Monday July 1st (Canada Day), which was also the day she was to move into her new apartment, and when her disappearance was reported to RCMP.
