Summary
On the RCMP's official dossier for Lisa's case, the "missing since" date has been listed incorrectly since the beginning.
After this mistake was brought to the attention of investigators, it was not corrected. Instead, a second date was added, also incorrect.
While individual issues may seem trivial on their own, together, they demonstrate the overall carelessness and apathy with which the investigation was handled.

Details
Reports and first-hand accounts are clear that Lisa was last seen on July 1st, 2002:
- Lisa was last seen by her friends on July 1st, 2002 at 3:30am.[1][2]Template:Hand2Nd[3]
- Lisa's last phone call was to her friend Dallas at about 4:00am.
- Lisa's last text message was to a friend around 4:30am.
Incorrect date of disappearance
The dossier has always misreported the date on which Lisa was last seen:[14]
WRONG: | "In the early morning hours of June 30, 2002, Lisa Young was seen for the last time…" |
CORRECT: | Lisa was seen and heard from for the last time on July 1, 2002. |
Additional error added in 2022
In 2022, an additional date was added to the dossier — also incorrect:[13]
WRONG: | "On the night of June 29, Lisa travelled to a local bar…" |
CORRECT: | Lisa arrived at The Jungle Cabaret on June 30, 2002 at 11:45pm. |
Comparison to dates in re-enactment
The Crime Stoppers video re-enactment produced in 2009 about Lisa's disappearance — which was based on information provided by Nanaimo RCMP investigators — also contained incorrect/misleading details, but ironically, the dates were one of the few details reported accurately in the video.[15]
The dossier's dates remain uncorrected despite investigators' ability to update it at any time. They have, however, recently added further misinformation.[13]
