Summary

Detailed Record of Proceedings for Christopher Adair's charges of Theft & Fraud stemming from a July 27, 2001 incident in Kamloops, BC. On July 22, 2002 the charges were transferred from Kamloops to Nanaimo, when Adair was questioned about Lisa's disappearance at the RCMP detachment in nearby Parksville, BC.

The charges of Theft and Fraud were both transferred "out" of Kamloops, but inexplicably only the Theft charge was transferred "in" to the Nanaimo court system. There is no further record of the Fraud charge.

The charges showed a history of recidivism as Adair had a documented criminal history of both Theft and Fraud, yet Adair was handed an unusually lenient sentence for this crime — he was to be spared any more jail time, on conditions including requirements that for 90 days he "keep the peace" and remain in British Columbia. A month later, Adair was arrested when he broke both of those conditions by Assaulting a Peace Officer in his hometown of Yorkton, Saskatchewan. He was then returned in police custody to Nanaimo where he was served the remainder of his sentence jailed at Nanaimo Correctional Centre.

Upon his release Adair reportedly moved to Japan, and eventually settled in Turkey, apparently returning to Canada only to attend the funeral of his grandmother, Geraldine Adair (the owner of the maroon Jaguar XJ-40 in which Lisa was last seen — and which was steam-cleaned prior to the RCMP's delayed seizure of the vehicle for forensic inspection).
