Chris Adair left Nanaimo for Kamloops, soon after his Canada Day 2002 encounter with Lisa. Three weeks later, Kamloops RCMP arrested him on Fraud & Theft charges dating back to 2001. The charges were then transferred from Kamloops to Nanaimo – although the Fraud charge seemingly "disappeared" upon transfer; only the Theft charge was "transferred in" to Nanaimo.
After he was questioned (in Parksville) about Lisa's disappearance, a single day in Nanaimo court resulted in a Guilty plea for the Theft, with a lenient Conditional Sentence Order: No jail time, on the condition that he "keeps the peace" and stays in B.C. for 3 months. Thirty days later he breached both conditions by assaulting a police officer in his hometown of Yorkton, Saskatchewan.
Chris was again transferred back to Nanaimo where he had to finish the term of the breached sentence in jail. His new charge of Breaching his Conditional Sentence Order seemingly went unpunished, and for Assaulting a Police Officer he was sentenced to only one day in jail, which he served on October 11, 2002. Soon after his release Chris reportedly travelled to Japan, later settling in Turkey.
