827 Nanaimo Lakes Road

This property is the clandestine burial location of Lisa Marie Young.

The 2 story residence located across the street from Colliery Dam Park was built between June and November of 1994 on a concrete slab and has a finished basement, double garage and fireplace.[2]

As of 2024 the home has been sold 3 times, and has increased in market value by 494%.

The 3200ft² home has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms on a 0.6 acre property which is officially part of the Mountain Land District, sandwiched between Colliery Dam Park (right across the street) and Morrell Nature Sanctuary (bordering on the back of the property). The property is currently assessed at about $1 million.[5]

The property happens to have a significant tectonic fault line running beneath it. The Chase River Fault is a strike-slip tectonic fault which bisects Gabriola Island and passes below downtown Nanaimo, then along the path of the Chase River and the reservoirs that make up the Colliery Dam.[7][8][9]

Canada Day Party

On Canada Day long weekend 2002, tenants of the home organized a houseparty.[26] People were talking about the event, days in advance.[11] People were coming and going from the home, day and night, from Friday until Monday morning. A group who attended later said they had only stayed for a few minutes, due to the "rough vibe" at the event.[10]

This was the first location where Chris brought Lisa and Dallas.[26] An hour later, the three moved on to a second houseparty, in the Cathers Lake area.[27]

Several hours later, Lisa was brought back to 827 Nanaimo Lakes Road, where she was murdered, then buried in the backyard at 49.14502, -123.97504.[28]
