This is an unfinished outline of events, created in hopes of grabbing the attention of someone at CBC News who can/will bring this outrageous scandal into the public eye at the national level, hopefully resulting in a public inquiry and resolution for Lisa's case, and ideally, spurring sweeping change within our federal police force.

I have the all facts and can present them meticulously, but I am not skilled at presenting them in a way that gets people's attention and trust, and hopefully, upsets them.

Lisa Marie Young was a 21-year-old half-Indigenous woman who on Canada Day 2002 "disappeared" from Nanaimo, BC while out celebrating with friends.

The case has seen no arrests, and no remains were recovered... despite RCMP receiving "thousands" of tips from the public, including precise burial coordinates

Lisa and her friend Dallas got a ride to a big houseparty from a man they'd just met who was driving a distinctive maroon Jaguar. After the trio moved on to a second party, Lisa and the driver got back in the car with the plan to bring food back to the party.

An hour later Lisa called Dallas, upset: "He won't bring me back." She then texted: "They won't let me leave." Soon after, her phone was shut off, and Lisa's friends and family have never heard from her since.

Lisa failed to show up for morning plans with her dad to help her move into a new apartment.

The next morning, Lisa didn't show up for plans with her dad, to move her into her new apartment. Her parents called "all" of Lisa's many friends

INITIAL DELAYS

• RCMP: "Call back in 48 hours"

• RCMP didn't "suspect foul play" for 10 days ... despite:
  • always ensured her cell was on yet calls were going straight to voicemail
  • always responsible, never disappeared before
  • none of her many friends knew whereabouts after Nanaimo Lakes/Cathers Lake
    • went with man she met an hour earlier, distinctive car

• Neighbour witnessed burial

RCMP DROPPED BALL

• RCMP failed to question bar patrons or Lisa’s friends
• RCMP failed to obtain security camera recordings
• RCMP failed to check for bank account activity
• RCMP failed to check cellphone records
• RCMP failed to seize the Jaguar before steam-cleaning

FAMILY BEGINS INVESTIGATION

• parents went to media RCMP failed to proactively publicize Lisa's case
• Purolator postered the island, 40 tips by day 10
• checked Lisa's bank and cellphone records
• questioned cabbies, friends, business owners

RCMP's EFFORTS FOR LISA's PARENTS

• RCMP failed to provide support or guidance for Lisa's family
• RCMP consistently failed to maintain contact with Lisa's parents
• RCMP warned Lisa's parents for seeking answers on their own
• RCMP dissuaded Lisa's parents from hiring a Private Investigator
• RCMP threatened Lisa's parents with criminal charges
• RCMP formally "cut off" Lisa's parents from information about their daughter's case

RCMP HANDLING OF ADAIR

• RCMP broke own policy with intra-provincial transfer of Adair
• Fraud charge "disappeared" during RCMP transfer of Adair
• Remarkable RCMP lenience with Adair despite recidivism
• RCMP released Adair immediately upon transfer
• RCMP inexplicably questioned Adair in town with possible conflict of interest
• RCMP brought in Lisa's mother to hug Adair
• RCMP released Adair despite lack of explanation of Lisa's whereabouts
• Assaulting RCMP officer plus prior assaults got Adair only 1 day of jail
• RCMP failed to seize the Jaguar before steam-cleaning

• Search was delayed 18 days due to RCMP prioritization of simple 2 day case
• RCMP's first search was focused more on officer training than on Lisa
